The rush is worth the price I pay I get so high when you're with me [/font] But crash and crave when you leave - - - - - - - - - -
'Hey, so I gotta question? Do you wanna have a slumber party in my basement? Do I make your heart beat like an 808 drum? Is my love with your drug? Your drug, your drug, Your drug, is my love your drug?' Rini's almost purple lips moved silently along to the lyrics of the song playing from her I-pod. Her head swaying slightly back and forth to the beat of the music. Faded black eye-shadowed eyes were shut; a movie of colors swirling behind her closed eyes. If someone to walk by her right now, before taking a second glance, would probably think she was dead. Her small form was laying across the grassy field; her thigh high suede boots discarded a few feet away from her. Her jacket was another few feet away from those. And there was an empty bottle of Grey Goose next to her hand along with a pink shot glass and a suede clutch (make up and a bunch of ones half way out of it). But none of that mattered to Rini; she was still feeling the effects of the party she left hours before (and the bottle she just finished) and all she wanted was to lay down with her I-pod. Originally she was on her way to another party across town (it was far too early to head home; 5 am wasn't late at all). But her feet had hurt so bad from her heels, she just wanted to take her shoes off and continuing walking. To take her shoes off, she had to sit down, then her coat was too tight, so she took that off. Then the bottle rolled out from inside her coat and she threw her body down next to it. Next the shot glass came out and the I-pod went on. Laying flat on her belly she took shot after shot; her head bobbing to music the entire time. When the bottle was finally empty, she rolled over onto her back, her hazel eyes staring intently up at the night sky. It was a dark purple with an orangish tint; she recognized this as why it was so cold. For a moment she had wanted her coat but it was too far away. Instead she closed her eyes and listened away to her music; finally coming to where she was now. She'd been like this for nearly an hour, it was going on 6 am. Surely her parent's would be waking up soon in the next few hours to make Sunday breakfast. A delicious spread that would probably consist of eggs, bacon, waffles, pork roll, toast, and a variety of fruits. At the thought of breakfast, Rini's stomach grumbled loudly. She groaned loudly, regretting not eating the previous day. Her stomach rumbled again and at that moment she decided she was going home. She opened her eyes and she quickly sat up. She closed her eyes again. Her head spun for a moment, her stomach twisted, and for a moment her throat felt heavy. The passed after a minuet and she opened her eyes; vision blurry at first. As her eyes adjusted she saw a silhouette in the shadows of the field. Squinting her eyes to see better, she called out in a slurred voice, "Hey, who's there?"

Hunter had decided the night before he needed to get back into his habit of running in the mornings. It was something he had started while he was gone in Arkansas. He had remembered how he had started getting into track and met a friend who ran seven miles every morning, and had suggested Hunter join him, so he had, and he’d loved it so much that he’d kept it up. It had become a time for himself; a time to reflect and just be by himself and enjoy the sun rising from other parts of the world where it was now dark. He loved being there as the world woke up, and he knew he needed to get back into it. He had missed his morning ritual since coming back, and it just wasn’t the same. Every morning in Arkansas he went running meant a happier and healthier Hunter. Every morning he missed, he just didn’t feel like himself and he wasn’t in as good a mood. When he came back to Serenade, he was still in that initial rush of being back, but now that that was over, he was beginning to get back into routine, and he knew that meant his morning runs.
So, here he was, getting up at five o’clock in the morning to get ready and start running. He was well into his fourth mile when he stopped to take a quick breather and just feel the wind on his bare calves. He was wearing black gray and white shorts that went to his knees and a long sleeve under armor shirt that was a dark gray with red accents, and his red New Balance running sneakers. He remembered that he was nearby a field and thought it might be the perfect place to keep on going. For a while he’d been going everywhere around Serenade. He had been through a neighbor’s backyard, a park where he’d climbed a jungle gym and slid down a slide. He had jumped over small creek and run along a business highway before taking a shortcut through some woods onto so back roads next to some neighborhoods. He figured a field would be a nice addition to his run. Back in Arkansas he had never had a definitely route except when he’d first started because he’d been running with a friend, but then he’d gone off on his own and began exploring where he was living at the time, and now he was back into that feeling of exploring the world around him, getting to re-know his home town of Serenade.
Hunter began to run some more, picking up his pace until he reached the edge of the field, feeling the breeze; he loved to feel the breeze and he couldn’t wait to be able to watch the sun rise in Serenade for the first time. He smiled to himself, loving this feeling and then started into the field. After a minute he heard someone call out and he looked to where the noise had come from. He could see what looked like a person and he did a fast sprint toward their general direction. As he got closer, he came to a slow jog and then was at a leisure walking pace. He smiled as he came up on the person who had called out, seeing who it was. ”Well, well, well, look who we have here.” Hunter would recognize his old party pal any day. By the looks of it, she had been out partying the night before.

As the person from the shadows walked toward her, Rini squinted her eyes more trying to adjust the blurry figure. But after a few moments she gave up, she edging herself in a position to stand and run if it was someone she didn't want to encounter.
'Well, well, well, look who we have here'. As the person, the boy, spoke, Rini cocked her head to the side, trying to place who this person was. He was about her age, probably in one or two of her classes at school, seeing how this was a small town. But she was drawing a complete blank. Just as she was about to ask who he was, she remembered. They used to party together back in the day; the day being only about 3 years ago. But one day he was gone, she didn't even acknowledge it at first, being constantly drunk.
Rini stared at him for a few moments before mumbling, "Hunter?" then adding on in a louder voice, "What are you doing here?" Though as she took in the attire he was wearing, clothes meant for exercise, and running sneakers, she added on in a surprised tone, "Wait....are you running?"
She furrowed her eye brows, her face in thought. She then looked up at the sky, then back to the boy. As she stared at him, her face still confused, she reached out for her phone grabbing it and looking at the time. It was a bit past 6 am. Who in their right mind went out at 6 am in the morning?
"You do know that it's 6 in the morning right? That's like really early and stuff. Why would you go out soooo early?" To Rini, it was perfectly acceptable to be out at this time if you had never went to sleep the night before. And even in her drunken state, she could tell he hadn't been partying the night before.

Hunter walked the rest of the way so that he was just about a foot away from Serena. He smiled at her, a hint of a smirk hiding behind his smiling lips and bright eyes. He remembered the days he and Serena used to be in the same party crowd. It was some serious fun times. It wasn’t like they were close buddies or friends or anything. Especially out of the party scene; but they did quite a bit of partying together. Of course, they were usually drunk or high and just about completely out of their conscious minds to always know what was going on. Hunter had been gone these past three years. When he had first moved to Arkansas, his aunt and uncle hadn’t let him have any fun. I mean, he had a very strict curfew and was severely punished if he didn’t obey their rules. After a while, he’d gained their trust, but by then, he had let go of his drunken party ways.
Hunter smiled at Serena and nodded his head at her question of who he was. He supposed she would forget him to some degree. After all, she’d probably gotten drunk a few hundred times since he’d last seen her. That is, if she hadn’t gotten rid of her bad partying; and from the looks of it, she sure hadn’t. Hunter started to answer her, ”Yeah, I love to run.” Hunter stated this last comment matter-of-factly. He supposed Serena would probably find this weird and odd, considering she hadn’t seen his life the past three years. So, it made perfect sense that she would be a bit confused.
Hunter watched Serena as she looked around and then back at him. She was probably still drunk from a night of partying with people, so she probably wasn’t all there. Then again, she’d probably learned to be somewhat there, in a somewhat right mind, even if she was drunk, after going through those same actions time after time.
Hunter couldn’t help but give a little chuckle at her next question. “It’s always the best time to run.” Hunter nodded his head like this was something everyone should know, though he knew Serena wouldn’t know this at all, seeing as how she probably hadn’t changed a bit, so at six in the morning, she was probably either passed out somewhere, or still trying to keep a party going. “What are you doing out here?”

As Hunter told that he loved the run, Rini couldn't help but give him a bewildered look. She hated running, positively, absolutely hated running; she actually really hated anything to do with athletics, she more artsy then sporty. And her parents on many occasions had gotten her doctors notes to excuse her from gym class. But for someone to love to run, that almost made her shudder.
Though when he stated that the best time to run was in the morning, the first thought going through her head was wtf, which she expressed in words, "What the......are you crazy or something?"
Morning was most definitely not for running. It was for sleeping or returning home for parties; and sadly it was for school to. But to get up and willingly go running, in Rini's head, that was insanity. She almost wanted to shake him a couple of times and yell if he was alright. But him asking what she was doing pulled her from her thoughts.
Rini smiled goofily and stated, "I was at a party! Duh!" Though after a few moments she added on, "Well...umm..I was at a party a couple of hours ago. See I was going to another party but heels hurt and stuff so I had my own party here." She waved her hand at the empty bottle discarded with the rest of her stuff on the ground and continued, "I just wish there were more people though!"
She pouted her bottom lip out in a mock sad face before smiling widely. "So are you gonna party it up!?! There's this huge banger happening later and its gonna be like really wild with like a DJ and strobes and stuff. I think it's like someone's birthday or something but who cares." More than once, she'd randomly appeared at someone's birthday party and only knew what was happening when there was cake. Most people wanted huge wild parties for their birthdays; she sure did.
