BACKGROUND HISTORY
Shawn has just recently moved into Seaside Serenade from a much bigger city in Atlanta Georgia. He grew up in a big city, so it's taken a while to adjust to such a small population versus the 500,000 plus in Atlanta.
Shawn's parents ran a big business within Atlanta, which evidentally made them a rather wealthy family. Of course, like many rich families, Shawn's was no different when they raised him by giving him money to shut him up during his child and teen years. Shawn wasn't raised in a loving household, more like a business type one, but with loads of cash. He never really liked it all that much; and wasn't full of conceit and selfishness like his two parents tended to be. But even with such a bad influence of parents, he managed to retain a blooming social life in his school and around town. He went to a private school, which had many rich kids; but not all were the stereotypical self-centered as most make them out to be. Shawn had many friends and wasn't the most popular, but had a good standing in his school. He rarely got into trouble, and did well in his classes, and he was even in the school choir; which was his most noticed attribute to the school.
Over the years, Shawn got increasingly fed up with his style of living in the Woods household, he rarely saw any of his other family members, due to the fact that his parents didn't feel like socializing with lower class men. It was really annoying. Shawn had always had a passion for cooking, a tad bit more than singing, and told his parents about it; which they approved of of course; since top chefs got paid a lot of money. Drug dealers did too; and if he had said THAT, they would have been approving as well just because of the big money he could drag in. In all honestly, that's exactly what he had mentioned first, and that was the reaction he had gotten.
Steaming, Shawn had run away in the course of the following week, he had finished high school thankfully, and was now off to a college that would help fulfill his dream. He had taken as much money as he could get from under his parent's noses (like they needed it!) and that was that; he payed his way into a fairly good college out of state (he was sick of the big city), and got his bachelors degree in Culinary cooking.
After graduating, Shawn moved into a small town called Serenade. He was surprised at the population size, but immediately took interest in the peaceful setting. He bought an apartment and has been living there ever since last year; just starting to learn some of the people's names. He struck gold when he found a job opening in a local sandwich shack; they had needed a chef, and true it wasn't anything big, but he had always enjoyed making sandwiches in his sparetime and said what the hell, why not?
Currently, Shawn is living alone at age twenty-two, holding his job very well, getting to know the people in the town and just living a pretty good life. He thinks about his parents sometimes; but knows he would have been miserable if he had stayed, and doesn't regret leaving that horrible, big city. The low crime-rate in this town is perfect.
PERSONALITY
Shawn's a pretty light-hearted, kind and very optimistic person. He's thoughtful and is always willing to meet new people, learn something new, or just hang out on a saturday night. He enjoys working, especially cooking. Shawn is known for brightening a person's day, by just starting up a light conversation; he's good at that kind of thing. Very social, it takes a lot to push Shawn away, since he's naturally drawn to someone he thinks needs a friend or someone to chat with. He contains a bit of ADD in him, but it's very suttle and you'd have to watch him closely to notice this. He gets distracted rather easily however and usually has a comment for everything. Very spunkful and humersome, Shawn can make even the most angry, sad person break a smile.
Of course, everyone has their bad sides, and Shawn's is his rather short temper, need for attention, and he also inherited a bit of his father's notorious arrogant side. Arrogance to you, could be just normal behavior to Shawn, he doesn't realize he's making a rude comment until it's too late; but over all he's very sweet. He doesn't mind talking about his past, and takes pride in what he did. He's stubborn too; so don't think you can win an argument easily with this guy.
In Shawn's spare time, he likes to play his guitar and sing some of his favorite songs; he's not very good at writing them, but still.

Being a very friendly social-chipmunk that he is, Shawn loves making friends and won't hesitate to talk to someone who obviously doesn't do well with conversing themselves. He doesn't have favorites though, perhaps his old high-school buddies, but he hasn't seen them in years.

How could someone hate someone like Shawn? Well, nothings impossble, right? He's had some troubles before; and he'll surely have them in this small town.
lovers
Shawn's had his fair-share of girl-friends; his longest relationship had to be about one month. He's kind of had a problem keeping girl-friends due to his overly friendly, social side; which of course leads to girlfriend jealousy. Shawn's always wondered if it was a curse he had when dating; and all during college he tended to stray away from getting too close to someone in fear of losing them. He's only ever had to break up with one girl before (and she was some crazy stalker), and he had to let her have it to get her gone; she couldn't take hint.
If he does get into a relationship, he'll try to take it slow. He won't pick just anyone though, he's sort of looking for a soul-mate and will wait patiently until someone special comes around.
